Jack Murphy - Malvern & Cotswold

Jack Murphy Malvern & Cotswold

Just in time for spring, we now present the latest brand in - Jack Murphy from Ireland, which has been successful with the Malvern and Cotswold jackets.

Jack Murphy is an Irish brand that is still a family business and is currently run by granddaughter Sarah. After a lot of customer inquiries and scouting for new brands, it was pretty obvious for us to bring Jack Murphy into the Jaktstil family. Just in time for spring, we can present the excellent rain jackets Malvern and Cotswold in a variety of colors. Jack Murphy themselves jokingly say that "Quality is our downfall" as their products consistently maintain high standards and perform so well.

This is the perfect jacket for those who are looking for a timeless, waterproof and long jacket with high mobility that you can wear both in town and on walks in the countryside. The functional properties of the jacket are not really visible, but the details around the characteristic check pattern that makes up the jacket's inner lining e.g. together with cuffs, corduroy collar, the protective and easily removable hood can not be missed, It is clear that they know what they are doing, that they have been doing it for a long time and a clear proof of why they are so popular.

Read more about the jacket's details (like the 20,000 water column) here and don't miss out on checking out all the colors.

This model is the ¾ length version of the jacket above and has exactly the same technical and functional features as the Malvern. Both of them also have the open slit at the back that is easily unbuttoned and makes the jacket easy to wear e.g. when riding. Here, too, you will find the classic and characteristic plaid lining in the jacket and which nicely comes out even at the cuff if you fold it up.

So what length should you choose?

Here we recommend the answers to these somewhat "simple" questions: Which one do you think is the best looking? And which one best meets the criteria for the function and application you are looking for?

Cotswold with its slightly shorter design gives a little more of a city feeling, among other things because it does not provide the full protection that Malvern does. Malvern with its extra length means, for example, that together with rubber boots, you have almost complete protection on the walk, when you train with the dog or are in the stable.
Whichever way you look at it, they both work very well for both situations and it ultimately comes down to personal preference or gut feeling.
